Construction projects unfortunately entail a serious disadvantage: the plant and equipment on the building sites has an adverse impact on sensitive natural areas and upsets the balance of nature. But we want to protect our environment. Accordingly, when planning such projects, we always include ecological compensation in the form of compensatory mitigation sites. Our experts deliver proof of how this works, for instance on the Luneplate site in Bremerhaven. We created extensive compensatory mitigation sites in the south of the city in the course of the CT 4 port expansion project. These now provide a refuge for breeding and resting birds; many species of animals and plants, some of which are endangered, have found a habitat here.
