DIGITALIZATION, Automation, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Digitisation, automation, artificial intelligence: the technological revolution is also breaking new ground at the port. And this calls for the support of the entire port community, because the concept of a smart port can only succeed if everyone cooperates to enable network solutions for the whole port. One of these solutions that is about to be launched is PRINOS, a management and information system for the terminal railway.

The Digital Outer Weser project will provide one joint platform for everyone involved in the complex system when seagoing vessels arrive at the port. One best-practice example has just been rolled out at Oslebshausen lock, where an artificial intelligence system now manages ferry operations at Industriehafen. This optimises lock operations and simultaneously saves a significant quantity of energy and electricity by reducing the number of lock passages. Other flagship projects will follow as we continue to roll out a smart port.
