Following its successful premiere last year, the Envoconnect will take place for the second time on 19 and 20 September 2024: the sustainability conference for the ports and logistics business, which already attracted a highly committed port community last year, will once again promote the joint effort to ensure a sustainable future for the ports and logistics sector and provide a forum for the discussion of topical issues. Interested parties can obtain further information and register for the two-day conference, which will be held at the Atlantic Hotel Sail City in Bremerhaven, at www.envoconnect.com as from now.

Last year was the first time that bremenports hosted this unique sustainability conference that is designed specifically for the port and logistics business. In view of the positive feedback after the two-day event, the organisers immediately decided that everyone from the port and logistics sector who is interested in sustainability should have the chance to network and obtain information about current trends once again at the Envoconnect 2024.

This year’s Envoconnect will again focus on those issues that really concern the port and logistics community, such as assessing the scope of the need for change along the supply chain. Potential solutions to examples taken from business practice will be presented to encourage participants to “copy” this approach. The shortage of skilled workers will also be addressed.

“Sustainability has long since evolved from a niche topic to one of elementary importance for ports and logistics: in view of the success of the first conference, it seems only logical to look at this topic on an intercompany and intersectoral level at the Envoconnect 2024 and join together as the port community to shape the future of the ports and logistics business,” says Robert Howe, Managing Director of the port management company bremenports.

Once again, the Envoconnect organisation team has come up with inspiring presentations and outstanding speakers for this year’s programme. Amongst others, the line-up already includes

Professor Christian Berg (expert for sustainability, innovation & resilience, Vice-President of the German Chapter of the Club of Rome)

Fridtjof Detzner (entrepreneur and member of the Sustainable Finance Advisory Committee of the Federal German Government),

Dr Kira Vinke (Head of the Centre for Climate and Foreign Policy at the German Council for Foreign Relations)

Cornelius Eich (Head of the Partnership & Sustainability Department of Team Malizia, Board Member of the German UN Ocean Decade Committee).

The Envoconnect 2024 will be moderated by the successful duo Marilena Dahlmann and Keno Bergholz.

However, the Envoconnect 2024 has much more to offer than inspiring speeches and new ideas. The conference relies on the active participation of all attendees. There will be highly interesting sessions on various topics where participants are invited to actively share knowledge and seek joint solutions. To facilitate this process, the bremenports organisation team has recruited the support of absolute professionals: Lennart Albrecht (Transport and Logistics Editor, DVZ Deutsche Verkehrs-Zeitung), Søren David (representative of the German Port Technology Association, Sustainability Working Group, ITT - Port Consult GmbH), Professor Sven Hermann (Professor for Logistics & Supply Chain Management, NBS Northern Business School, Managing Director of ProLog Innovation GmbH) and Dr Bernd Pokrandt (DSLV, German Umbrella Organisation for Forwarding and Logistics, Managing Director of TCU GmbH & Co. KG) will each act as moderator of one session.

“Conference attendees can look forward to much more than current political and scientific input at the Envoconnect 2024. On the contrary, participants will be encouraged to become part of the sustainability community and help develop potential solutions. The motto could be described as “Come to the Envoconnect …and leave as part of the solution”, sums up Ronald Schwarze, head of marketing at bremenports. He and his team are responsible for organising the conference.
