As from tomorrow, visitors to the Transport Logistic in Shanghai can experience a little piece of Bremen and Bremerhaven concentrated onto an area of 120 square metres. The leading fair for the logistics industry will take place again for the first time since 2018, as it subsequently had to be cancelled because of Covid. However, that break has not diminished the reputation of this fair in China’s flagship industrial city: the Transport Logistic Shanghai, which normally takes place every two years, is regarded as the leading Asian trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management and – together with a comprehensive conference programme – serves as a well-established business platform for the Chinese logistics and transport sector.

At the German Ports joint stand (Hall W4, stand number 311 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre) bremenports will present the strengths of the German seaports together with Hamburg, Lower Saxony, BLG and another ten co-exhibitors.

“There is a good reason why we are attending the trade fair in China despite the great distance: in the seaborne freight sector, the People’s Republic was the second most important country for the ports of Bremen in 2023, after the USA. The smallest Federal Land in Germany is well known in Shanghai,” says Ronald Schwarze, “and not just because of the Town Musicians of Bremen.” bremenports’ Head of Marketing will attend the fair for the next three days. His task, he explains, “is first and foremost to promote customer relations. At the same time, however, the fair regularly provides a good opportunity for making new business contacts,” says Schwarze, adding that thanks to their modern infrastructure, the German Ports – i.e. Germany’s seaports – have a great deal to offer the Asian market when it comes to efficiency and versatility. “The ports of Bremen, for example, have an excellent reputation in Asia as a dependable partner and are also seen as a positive example of sustainability, a topic that meanwhile plays an increasingly important role in China as it does the world over,” concludes Schwarze.
