The ports of Bremen attract national and international attention in 2025

Next year, bremenports will once again be beating the drum for the location and the performance of Bremen's ports at numerous events and trade fairs. The focus will be on three highlights in particular: the new LogisticsConnect conference trade fair, which will be held in Bremen for the first time on March 6, 2025, the third sustainability congress for the port industry, ENVOCONNECT, which will be held on September 3, and, above all, the world's largest leading trade fair in the logistics sector - Transport Logistic Munich.

The latter is already attracting a great deal of interest: 20 companies from the ports and logistics sectors have already registered for the joint stand organized by bremenports and want to use the international industry platform from 2 to 5 June to jointly draw attention to themselves and the location - including with a large stand party directly on the exhibition area on 4 June.

Meanwhile, Logistics Connect is a completely new joint conference trade fair organized by Messe Bremen, Bremische Hafenvertretung (BHV) and bremenports, which will be launched for the first time in 2025. Under the motto “The Future of Logistics and the Port Industry”, the event will bring together representatives from business, science and politics in Bremen on March 6, 2025. The aim is to highlight innovations and trends in logistics and to strengthen the role of Bremen's ports as a central logistics location.

In addition, bremenports will be present five times in Germany and abroad with the Logistics Talk event series, including in Prague and Vienna, in order to present the expertise of the ports of Bremen directly and personally to customers there. The ports of Bremen will also be represented at all major international trade fairs next year.

“2025 will be an extremely exciting year full of opportunities to position our ports in Bremerhaven and Bremen as a national and international location. With almost 25 events on the agenda, we have a few more than in 2024 to focus on the performance and role of the ports of Bremen as an international logistics hub at home and abroad,” emphasizes Ronald Schwarze, who, as head of the bremenports marketing department on behalf of the Senator for Economics, Ports and Transformation, is also responsible for port location marketing together with his team.

Bremen represented worldwide

Whether in Singapore or Miami - bremenports will also be organizing joint stands for Bremen-based companies at all major trade fairs for the port and logistics industry next year and flying the bacon flag locally. The trade fair program will start with Intermodal South America in Sao Paulo on 20 April before continuing with Breakbulk Europe in Rotterdam (13 May) and Transport Logistic Munich from 2 June. After a short summer break, the trade fair calendar will continue at the end of September with Breakbulk Americas in Houston and about a month later, on October 21, with the Hydrogen Technology Expo in Hamburg, before Transport Logistics South East Asia in Singapore (from October 29), the HTG Congress in Münster (November 5) and Transport Logistic Americas in Houston on November 11 conclude the trade fair year at the end of the year.

Further highlights in the calendar of events

The bremenports marketing department will also be offering plenty of other events for the ports of Bremen: For example, there will be two port breakfasts in Saxony next year - one in Leipzig in the spring and another in Dresden in the fall.  There will also be a spring reception for the ports of Bremen at the Bremen State Representation in Berlin on March 27, where Prof. Dr. Antje Boetius will once again be in attendance. She spent a long time at the Alfred Wegener Institute in Bremerhaven, most recently as Scientific Director, and is now taking the leap to the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute in California in May. Business psychologist Dr. Lisa Schleker and the new CEO of BLG, Matthias Magnor, will also be joining the “party” and can also be seen on stage in the State Representation.

Next year's event schedule also includes a ceremony for the Hong Kong Convention on 16 June - the agreement between the member states of the IMO (International Maritime Organization) deals with environmentally friendly recycling of ships, among other things, and sets guidelines for the working conditions of the relevant shipbreaking yards. And let's not forget a real home game, which will be celebrated on August 14: This is when bremenports and the ports of Bremen will be hosting a reception as part of Sail 2025 in Bremerhaven.
